Welcome to Special Services

Our commitment as a department is to create a community of collaboration to support and
help empower students with disabilities to achieve their individual success through intentional planning, partnership, and awareness.

General Education:
A student with special needs is in the classroom and the learning specialist acts as a consult.

Co-Taught Classes:
A student with special needs is in the classroom and the learning specialist co-teaches with the content specialist.

Intervention/Strategy Course:
A small group setting where students receive specially designed instruction in their specific area of need, such as reading, writing, math, study skills/organizational skills, and/or self-management.

Life Skills/Functional/Vocational Course:
Students with moderate to significant needs receive instruction that focuses on learning life skills, such as basic reading, math, writing, and independent living.
